Tires ???

2008 2.4 2LT
215/50/R17
Bonez currently wears Cooper GLS Touring and I have been getting a lot of break away pulling away from stops in wet weather, still has decent thread but just not grabbing the road like it should I think.
So with wet, cold and soon Ice and Snow, I am looking for better shoes for Bonez. I mainly look for excellent wet, snow, ice traction and usually always get all season tires since I dont have extra wheels to swap summer/winter tires nor room to store them.
I was looking at new Coopers ( same as current ) and they show great ratings but the performance of mine are ****ty and Im sure they are close to being shot although they still have thread and not worn to the wear indicators yet. So, Im debating to stay with the same and try new or go with something different? As I have looked at a few others I like, which I will list. What are others running with excellent wet, snow Ice traction A/S

Seems your Coopers have turned to hockey pucks, a term we Canucks use for great tread, poor traction tires. There are many great all seasons M/S rated tires , it’s a matter of preference and budget

I run the Michelin X- Ice 3 tires "all year long" and I love them. Also running them in an oversize 215/60/16 XL 99H.
I got tired of removing storing and replacing all the time so I just decided to leave them on.
They are a compounded directional tire and they run quiet and very smooth.
I have had them up to 80mph for a short burst and the is no sign of any vibration. They track perfect.
They are a step in between All Season and Studded tires.
Overall handing is excellent.
I run 32lbs PSI cold in the front and 30 in the rear.
For a compounded tire they seem to wear better and run quieter then blizzacks.
This is my 3rd set and not a problem of any kind with all 3.
This size is really close clearance on the front but they do not Rub.
The only possible downside I can see would be running them longer distances in hot weather at higher speeds and getting faster wear.
I have run the 205/60/16 X-Ice XL also and it runs fine.
It's a No Brainer for me .....

I'm facing the same dilemma of what to choose this time around
I've run Coopers on my Monte Carlo for several sets, they're my tire of choice when it comes to that size/style

But I'm not sure on these cars, I'm leaning towards Generals... but I also live in FL, so wet traction/speed are my concerns... I've got no worry about ice/snow

Perhaps Coopers in a different compound?

Take a close look at Continental Extreme Contact DWS. I’ve run 2 sets and found them to be great.

Well, my tires age out, before wearing out. So to keep a soft grippy tire I run ZR rated tires..
and I bumped up from 205/15/17 to 225/50/17.

But don't expect 40K miles outta them.. LOL

Over the years, we have returned to this topic many times.
Every time it turned out that Bridgestone Blizzak is in the lead or is mentioned as a worthy candidate in terms of "price / quality".
