Is it common practice in Canada?

I installed those winter tires on Saturday afternoon so far very nice ride, very quiet road noise, haven’t had enough snow , yet!

Hercules- Ironman Polar Trax winter tires

So far so good no strange noises or vibrations and the eBay TPMS sensors are connected and the pressure is the same as my Tigre pressure gauge 240 kilo pascals or 35 psi

Have never seen anything like 4-ply B-rated LT light truck tire on an HHR and wouldn’t know where to buy one. Would be interesting to see an example of one suitable for an HHR.

Just bought a couple “10-ply” E-rated 80 psi truck tires (for an E250, not for an HHR.) They don’t really have ten plies.

Most passenger car tires are standard load “SL,” one-ply rated sidewall. Some are marked that way. If they’re not marked LL or XL they’re SL.

Quite a few are marked XL, usually 2-ply sidewall, often “performance” tires.

I just went down and looked at my Pirellis and am left slightly confused; in one place they say “standard load” but elsewhere say XL and two ply sidewall and 51psi max. They have a “V” speed rating.

I run them at about 30-32 psi. Even then, they’re not the gentlest ride I’ve ever experienced.

BTW I’m not pitching my tires for snowy hilly places. We have very flat terrain and not that much snow in our part of Ohio.
