Tires and Battery

How about a recommended 17" tire for an 06 driven on 4 lane highways and city streets? Finally got front 2 unmounted, rim painted with some black "sealer" and daily loss of air ended, but tires are lousy loud.

Second: I replace batteries in GM products I own (Buick and HHR) before I need wrecker. Previous and original replaced the battery with a AC Delco in late 2017. Now it's 2022 Feb. get thru winter, new Delco installed by a dealer...I know, get ready to be hosed. Auto store won't replace HHR battery as they install free (Advance)..HHR involves too much work. What's recommendation? Worried doing myself without proper 12 volt live during switch will lose something. Car as it is has way too many electrical components...

Do you have a battery store called "Batteries +" in your area or state? We have them here in Texas and they have any battery any size any vehicle in stock and install in minutes. They installed a new battery in my Camero last month in about 10 minutes, and it is in the trunk also.

Walmart installs. Some Advance, AZ, O'reilly do. They are scared because they don't know where it is. Way too simple to pay someone,.don't even get dirty like under hood types. And be careful the cable ends are easy to over tighten.

And don’t let the cable ends touch or let the positive end touch ground . The RAP can discharge and burn out the radio or other electronic parts, like BCM or ECM . I was lucky it just killed my radio.

One thing I did because I was not in a hurry was to have them specifically order a new fresh Battery. I checked the dates and got one 8 months fresher then the one on the shelf. They are not fast movers..
P.S. They will install.......

maybe I will now say something that is not customary to do in the US, if so - excuse me for this, but ...
Why don't you strip the battery yourself, leave all those plastic boards, spare tire and pallet at home, and come to this fancy shop with the battery already exposed?

I think the problem might be this: once I went to AutoZone for a free battery load test. I asked them to test at the battery, which is in the back. They said they could not test there, because that is considered entering the vehicle, which they are not allowed to do. Seems silly, but this type of company rule might be why some won't touch our HHR batteries.
