TPMS procedure DOES NOT WORK!!!!!

3 hours of every conceivable way of raising and lowering tire pressure and cannot even get one tire programmed! It would have been easier to just moce the wheels than try to reprogram these POS sensors. I am ready to take this damn car out in the woods for target practice!

Has anyone actually been able to set these by the owners manual instructions?

What a bunch of junk. I would love to just disable it entirely.

First off are you getting the 2 horn honks that indicate you are in programming mode?

I do mine as the manual states and have never had a problem. Hope you get it figured out.

I did everything by the book. I do not even get the first confirmation. I usually have the dealer rotate the tires with the oil change, this time I figured I would set the TPMS myself after taking off the 17's and putting the stock tires on.

There is no reason for this to be this difficult.

Was your HHR formerly a rental? If so, you will need to get a new OS installed in the computer.

I did mine the other day. I had all tires over filled just slightly. After letting the air out of the front driver side tire and got the honk to move to the next tire, I only removed air for a second before I got the honk to move to the rear tire. The other two tires let me remove air as I saw fit. It took less than five minutes and everything was set correctly. I then used the DIC information and removed the remaining extra air to get the right tire pressure. Sorry to hear you are having problems.

Pinballfreak.....

You PROBABLY didn't set the tires to exactly what they should be. The DIC indicator is generally off about 2-3 pounds from actual pressure. It functions on the notion of a lowered variance from the set pressure, I think it's 3 pounds. A good tire gage will be the telltale.
