Transmission problem

Has anyone had transmission problems with their 2006 HHR 2.4L 172hp vehicle? I was driving along and encountered a major problem with my transmission. The car has 35925 miles on it just under the limited 3yr warranty. I have not seen any writings on transmission problems anywhere on this vehicle. Just wondering if anyone else has.

Nope; - well over 50 hard dyno runs and lots of 1/4-mile testing too.

Shifts like a dream.

Sorry to hear about it. Those things are bound to happen once in a while - sorry it happened to you. At least the warranty will cover it!

Any damage to the casing? (i.e. Did anyone run something over?) Odd for leaks from the casing otherwise, but definitely possible. Good luck!

It's hard to believe that a transmission would just go like that without either severe abuse or some kind of "warning". Not saying that you abused it or anything, but it seems very odd that something like this would happen out of the blue. Have any other details?

Yeah, I agree with greyghost.

What did you hit? The big question is why is the trans. fluid leaking from the bottom of the car. 90% of the time when you "blow" a trans. the "bands" or "clutches" go and you get severe slippage or just revving with no engagement. Hardly ever with fluid leaking "all over" unless a seal went bad.

Also I believe, there is a TSB about trans fluid leakage.

Did to check the trans fluid for a "burned" condition?
What are your other symptoms at 75 miles short of warranty expiration?

just to be the narcisist of us all..why does this guy join the forum just today and his first post is about a problem? NOT ACCUSING...just questioning since we have certainly had others on here that like to stir the pot. It is a LOT of miles so quickly too. ok ok ok...let me have it...Im sure I deserve it now.
