Travel back in Time...

A bit off the HHR topic...
But thought I'd share some photos of some old classics I came across while out having lunch with the wife this weekend. Enjoy...

Thanks, this brings back memories. When I was in high school my best friend's father restored a 1931 Model A (after he sold his 1936 Ford Phaeton). It was fun to watch the project progress. And of course from time to time our help was necessary. I spent hours and hours over there almost every day (what a way to stay out of trouble). I only regret that he sold it before my friend and I could drive.

His next project was a 1956 T-bird. I did get to drive that one. I was only kidding when I asked to drive it but he tossed me the keys anyhow. What a thrill for a 17 yr old (especially when he said he didn't need to come along for the ride with me).

Thanks for the memories!

In 1959 my older brother drove home a 1929 Model A coupe. He paid $125.00 for the car. It ran like a top.

I was just 16 and had my driver's license. He let me drive it all the time. I loved driving that old car. The girls loved riding in the trunk rumble seat and I had a lot of fun. Those were the proverbial "good ole days".

Amazing Jay!

Amazing how times have changed.

That 3-window is one of the most popular pre-war Fords.

WOW!

What a line-up of cool old cars, never have been a Ford fan, but I do have a soft spot for Model A's.

Of course, back "in the day", the price of that '33 Cadillac would have bought a small herd of Model A's or Chevrolet's.

WOW! What a lineup! I have never seen that many pre-war cars in one place at one time.

I was 14 in 1960 and there was a completely restored '32 Chevy coupe for sale at a local gas station for $350. I wanted that thing so bad but my dad wouldn't budge. Funny, the things you remember.
