Under the front seats

There is a lot of wasted space under the front seats. They are begging for either a sliding tray or perhaps small subwoofers (they used to sell something called shakers or rattlers that were small speakers that made the car rumble). Does anybody ( CJ ) know how the front/side panals come off the drivers seat? Is it screwed on from underneath, or just popped on? I would like to cut a door in the front panal for a small storage bin there, then add some runners and attach a wooden tray to the passanger side. Just have to figure out how to secure it so it doesnt slide open when I step on the brakes.

What about the heat vents? Whatever you're storing on your shelf better be heat resistant. I wouldn't put speakers directly over a heat vent.

I have to check again but I thought they faced the rear. Might have to rethink this idea, though. Perhaps it could be used as a food warmer

They do face the rear but I still think it would get hot.

I'll throw a hot dog next to it and crank up the heat for a while.

I wouldn't put anything there.
The heat vents are close to the front of the seats.
How would it work when you slide the seat back and forth?

Does look like a problem. But could still use advice on how to remove the front panal on the power drivers seat. Is it snapped or bolted on?
