Update on possible carbon monoxide poison problem

I now have pictures on my profile and you can see the foam tape and putty, and as far as taking picture when they were working on it the dealer ship is 80 miles from my house and one week I was out of state so no documented pictures.

You know, bottom line on this.....you have an exhaust leak someplace, MAYBE from your aftermarket exhaust install. Here's my rational......
Many dealers and auto repair shops run vehicles all day long inside of a garage, with doors closed, and a exhaust hose attached to the exhaust end. The hose leads outside to dispurse the fumes (I even have one on my garage that I use mostly in the summer to keep cool air IN). The only time anyone has experienced a problem is if the exhaust system is not performing as intended....usually leaks are the culprit.
I would suggest the first thing is to find out where the leak is coming from and eliminate, or greatly reduce it. THEN eliminate the intrusion.
And what is the Dealer's name????

There is NO exhaust leak in the exhaust system . And what does an exhaust hose out the door have to do with it. They found the exhaust circles around the back of the car and comes in any hole it can get in . I think you should be asking who the hell the tech support from GM was.

I have to say their fix looks like poop. I would not except that on my car. Have they not heard of caulk? Keep up your complaining and if someone doesn't respond in the way you want, go over their head. I have to disagree with the "running cars in a garage all day long" theory. When one of the co-workers does that to me, I leave. There is a slight difference in cubic feet between a shop and the interior of an HHR.

From your pics, it looks like the techs @ the dealership are goofs!!! Haven't they ever used plastic/rubber sheet metal plugs? On your upper rear hatch pic, there is a factory plug right beside the duct tape!!! On my 06, that is not a factory hole, only the one that has the plug in it. Maybe the 07-08 has the extra hole, but regardless, it should have a proper plug, NOT duct tape! I think the dealership is your biggest problem.

I did a quick google search and only found one Chevrolet dealer in Chanute, KS and that would be Ranz Motor and I have sent them an email asking if they could verify the existence of this problem to either address this with our dealers and/or GM or if this can be discounted as an isolated issue. I will let you know if/when I receive a response. I have sent them a link to this forum as well.
