yeah it’s an LQ9 iron block. I actually had a hard time finding a new block. My local Chevy dealer had it shipped in from Michigan.
Seems lots of parts etc are hard to find, I blame it on sleepy joe. Good find.

I found out that the fuel pump from a late 90’s F150 pickup will work on an Ls. I bought a cheap Chinese eBay pump for $34 and coupled it with an eBay regulator $22 and a Home Depot 5 gal bucket……. Instant Ls fuel system.
I imagine it certainly has to be tight working on it. I remember the days when we just made tilt front ends..
I like your "low buck" stand. & LS fuel return system. This version (engine) I would say will be more wicked yet, Very creative mind you have..
I finally got the engine test stand finished. Got it running for a few minutes and now it’s ready for some tuning. That comes in a couple of weeks. So far so good.
