my wife had a look and reminded me of a 1948 Thames panel I dropped a 327 SBC and power glide auto into back in 1970, she didn't find any pictures of it, but I'm amazed she remembered that ride, as I sold it just after completion and forgot all about it. SO keep this one until you're sick of driving it!! a great job on a very cool HHR

Louvered Hood

I have this on my daily driver so I just had to have this on the V8 HHR.
Louvers, you just can't have too many louvers. It is really quite alot of work to do a HHR hood. First you must figure out where they can go and how large an area you have to work with. Then you take a cut-off tool and cut out the inside reinforcing. Care must be taken when laying out the louvers because you only get one chance when the hood in in the punch. Every single louver is hand set before the die comes down. If it is not perfect you go get another hood. Once the louvers are in you weld the inside reinforcement back it place. A bit of weld grinding and replacing the adhesive that sticks the inner and outer pieces together and its time for paint. My painter is gonna be crying on Monday when he sees the hood. Louvers are really a ***** to prep and paint.
