Floor Mods
Before I get off to work this morning I went thru the pics I have of the sheet metal work on the floor/firewall. Here are some. I hope this answers most of your questions.

The actual "floor" was left stock except for the areas under the rear seats that were dimpled down about 1/2". These areas were cut out and will be filled in with a flat piece of sheet metal. This was done to allow the sub frame rail to sit flat against the floor. The "drive shaft hump" area was completely removed and replaced with a taller piece (see Photo #4) as far as the height of this piece, I don't recall, but it was as tall as I could put in this area and not cut out all of the stock body crossmember strength. You will need to check and see how much room your drive shaft and torque will need for clearance (based on ride height) if you are going to do this to your car. Hope this helps.

Camaro harness
Installing the harness bit by bit. It is thru the fire wall and the ecm is sitting on the floor on the passenger side. Next is to put the sound/heat mat in then mount the computer. The bcm is going in the console. On Monday I should have the Optima battery and mount. It's going on the rear passenger floor. The air compressor for the front struts mounts in the drivers rear floor area.

Engine and Trans together at last
Got them mated together today. Somehow the 3 bolts that hold the torque converter to the flywheel got lost. Luckily my local Chevy dealer had them in stock. These are a semi - special bolts that you really shouldn't substitute just any old bolt. Anyway, it's almost ready to drop in.
The Optima battery is here as is it's hold down bracket.

Looking good
Funny that you mentioned losing those torque converter bolts. The other day I was looking in my spare parts drawer for a bolt.
I saw 3 torque converter bolts and can't for the life of me remember what they came off of. But, they've been there a looong time. I haven't done any trans. work in about 20 years.

Little by little
The wiring harness continues. New tach driver wires are being spliced in to send impulses to the 1963 Sun tach. Brake master cylinder is back in. The Line Lock mounts next to it. I need a new starter motor because this one is really sounding strange cranking it over, and it is getting hot. The engine compression ratio is 11 1/2 to 1 so it will require a good starter. We are hoping for the engine to be installed at the end of this week.
