Fuel Cell
We can't go too far on the interior sheet metal or the fuel cell won't be easy to work on. Right now the fuel pump and sender are going in the tank. Once that is in the tank gets mounted and the filler neck gets installed and the filler hose and vent get run to the gas cap area. Fuel lines and sound/heat insulation will be run after the floor is complete. It's going lots of different directions right now but in a couple of weeks I hope to have it in good shape. Once all this is done we can get back on the wiring harness.

Time line
I would love to have it running in 3 months (wiring harness operational, fuel line run and complete, steering rack plumbed in from hydro-boost, brakes working, etc.). It will probably be another year before it is completely done, ready for shows.

Fuel Cell continued
New fuel cell brackets are complete. Holes are drilled for the sending unit, fuel pump and filler neck. The floor is getting covered with heat and sound mat. I need to order more insulation mat because we're really going thru this stuff. I'm putting it on the ceiling too. I think there is going to be some serious sound/vibration to deal with.

EFI fuel pumps are not cheap.
The fuel delivery system for modern engines are very complex. It was not possible to use the Camaro pump in my fuel cell so I went with an Aeromotive Phantom Stealth 340 in-tank system. It will deliver enough fuel for up to 700 hp so it will work fine. They are pretty proud of these things, they are pushing $650.

Gas Filler In
The gas tank filler tubing is in.
It is a combination of stock a HHR gas cap flange braised onto a section of bent 1 3/4" steel tubing, adapted down to 1 1/2" tubing into the tank flange.
Also here is a shot of the custom horn button graphic I printed for the 4 spoke '06 Cobalt steering wheel that is going in the panel.
