great job on the steering issues, neat and tidy, I like the soda blast look of the knuckle and the LCA, a spray of clear would help keep them looking good!

Reversing Rear Brakes

The parking brake cable on an '01 Camaro goes from the lever in the console down the drive shaft hump and splits to each side, just as you would imagine. The weird part is that the cable goes behind the rear axle and turns around going forward. This set up won't work if I want to keep any use of the HHR p-brake cable location. To fix this I took the rear brakes, backing plates and all and reversed them right to left. This gives me p-brakes that will work with a forward pull of the cable. Look closely at this photo, you will see a "L" in the casting. This brake is now on the passenger (right) side. Calipers don't care which way they go as long as the rotor is correct.

How much do you want to see?

I work on the V8 build every week. Things are getting done. Unfortunately many of the things that are done really don't look like much or its a change to something I already did that I later found out was wrong. Like the rear trans mount. I take photos of everything for my own info.

My question is, do you want to see this minutia or would you rather I wait for larger updates before I post? Let me know.

Small stuff, the big stuff, or a mix bag of stuff is cool with me. I just really like what you are doing. Great stuff.

Trans raised, ect.

I re-did the rear trans mount because it was waaaaaay too low. While I had the plasma cutter out I cut some holes for the exhaust system. I'm going with oval shaped exhaust tubing for maximum ground clearance. I haven't figured where the cats are going just yet. I also pressed in some longer rear wheel studs into the axles. The other ones were about 5/8" too short.

Here is the position of the trans now. It's much farther into the car now.

I find all the posts as interesting as the prior one. I hope you keep posting all the details on this build. It reminds me that anything can be done if your willing to put the effort forth...
