HOLY COW!!!!!I would like to see the 572 one. OMG!!!!
I know when i first bought my HHR, my Dad said he would like to find one that was wrecked, and build a tube chasis and drop one of his race car motors in it. He used to race, but still builds dirt track race cars.

Dont understand the reasoning behind GM asking them not to drive it anymore....what are they afraid of?

It drove too well I would guess, so everyone would want to own one......

That would cause havoc with their safety and fuel mileage standards they needed the HHR to meet if they had to build one with RWD and V8 or even V6 power.

Simple it is a show car and the liability involved is Great.

The fact is most show cars are not tested or made to go on the roads. THey are made to look good and come off a truck to the place in the show and back.

If GM sells this and a part breaks they could be taken for millions. So title is given and they are not considered road approved.

This is better than the past as they just crushed them to make sure no one drove them. I is amazing GM sold as many show cars as they did as seldom do many companies let them out like this even if they could make a lot of money.

I have never seen a road test on this car but It may drive ok but Year one may have never really sorted this one out since it was only for show.

Odds are the way it is built it would drive like an old street rod. Good but could be better. Often there are few if any road test on these kinds of cars for a reason.

Hey, youre in texas, give em a call and maybe go have a look. They are asking only $46000
I have the show on DVD, it doesnt give a lot of details though. The first link in this thread and the BJ auction listing give some good info.
