Sucks that this happened to you. I'm glad it sounds like no one was seriously injured. Tax is right about how insurance and/or police usually handle these accidents.. In almost all cases you will be found at fault if you rear-end someone. Not that it's right, but that's how it works. I hope insurance works out okay and you can find a good replacement.

Thank God you HHR did what it was designed to do and kept you safe.

(Didn't I read another post somewhere that someone said that HHRs are designed poorly?)

Sucks having to replace it, but it would suck a million times more if you had to do it from a hospital bed.

unless you live in Michigan and it is a "no fault" system. I don't even think rear ending counts there.

Why would another HHR be out of the question?

Find a decent 2008 or 2009 HHR, with low miles.
