Can anyone run a check on a VIN#
My sister-in-law is looking a a used 2006 LT and I don't trust the dealer.
I think he is trying to hide something

What do you think he`s trying to hide? How would the vin# expose it? Is there another dealer in your town, you would have to deal with this guy again eventually for something, and you don`t trust him already...

 

www.carfax.com and you can find out. It will cost you a couple of bucks, but it is usually guaranteed.

 

The only suspicious part is the second character. It'd better be 3G . The G means the manufacturer is General Motors.

 

The 2nd vin. # should be a G not a D

there is always a reason to check, do not believe the words. This is normal and honest seller should not be offended.

Carfax - quite reliable resource. But unfortunately, it is not a panacea too.

My Hippo had a clean Carfax + traces of repair on the muzzle at one and the same time.

 

CarFax is only as good as what was reported.

And sometimes things don't show up for a while later that are reported.
