warranty
Hey HHR gang! I recently bought a used HHR, a 2007 model. I'm wondering what the warranty is on this vehicle. It is only 2 years old, and I'm already getting notices about the warranty expiring, asking me to renew. I've heard reports on the radio about warranty scams, and am wondering if this might be one. I was told at purchase the the original warranty was still valid. Is it?
Please help this new and very pleased with my car owner. Thanks, Rick

First off,
Wait 'til morning when Chevy Mgr chimes in about your warranty. U.S. Fidelis has been in the news a lot lately about scam tactics to push folks into extending thier warranties as a GM representative. READ THE FINE PRINT of any of these and talk to your local dealer service mgr, since he will be doing the work, as to who is legit and who is going to hose you.
Also, edit in what your mileage is, as it effects warranty status.

You have a 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty and a 5 year 100,000 , mile power train warranty for the engine, transmission and axles.
As Jay said STEER CLEAR OF ANY PHONE SOLICITED extended warranties. Best to buy is GMPP but there are a few other decent companies. I lady came in today with a 80,000 mile Monte Carlo and had just bought a warranty for $3450. WTF They didn't cover the pass lock sensor she needed for the repairs, the tow bill or the rental.

All too many extended warrenty offers are overpriced and will not cover anything that breaks. Then you'll have to jump through hoops to get them to pay for anything, no matter what the TV ads, mail or phone calls say.

I have a 2008 with a GM Extended warranty and I get those calls too. I will not purchase any warranty except from the manufacturer of the Car. I have known people that did and initially said they saved a lot of $$$ but when it came time to use the warranty they got "oh..that is not a covered part".

Call any GM dealership and ask for finance dept. I would call many and see who will give you the best deal. These are NEGOTIABLE.
