We pulled the trigger!

Just got back from the dealer where we ordered a new Sunburst Orange HHR Panel 2LT. No real extra options, except for mudflaps. Our planned mods are rims with baby moons and custom graphics with our store name on the side. Maybe even some old chevy script on the grill.
We had a little issue that the dealer is working on resolving. When you order the chrome exterior package, you now get 16" polished rims. For some reason, we couldn't get the order approved with either 16" or 17" painted wheels, nor could we change to the 16" polished wheels. More than likely a software glitch.
It's going to be at least 4 weeks till we get delivery, so no pics until then.

Did you get the running boards? IMHO they are a must have for the HHR. The used ones that I looked at without them had some serious paint issues on the front of the back fenders without them.

I didn't even know you could get the panel in the 2LT trim. I thought that it only came in the LS and 1LT. That may exlpain the 16" wheel problem.

Sounds cool! Another SOM HHR. Welcome to the party

Question

According to the 08 brochure, all 2LTs come w/ painted-aluminum 17" rims. 1LTs are outfitted w/ 16" chrome aluminum rims.

Also included in the 2LT pkg is the "Bright Chrome Appereance Pkg".

Are you sure the order was written up for the 2LT? Sounds more like it was ordered as the 1LT.

It sounds as if the salesman is experiencing a PEBKAC error!

I know, that only added to the salesperson's confusion. If you configure an 08, you will see that the exterior chrome package went up drastically, like $700 more than an 07. I believe the price increase is due to the chrome wheels being included.

I agree about the running boards. The car kinda looks naked without them.

The road rash will occur even w/ the boards. Maybe a bit slower, but still occurs none the less.

According to the Chevy Site: Running Boards are standard on the 2LT

Don't mean to be a thread-jacker, but you can pre-order 08's now, huh... That means I DID see a Blue Flash Metallic one the other day... It looked purdy

Congrats on the new ride!
