What is this?

I recently purchased a '06 HHR LT for the wife, the first time one of the kids got in behind the driver's seat, something poked them in the ankle. I can't post a picture her, but, it looks to be some kind of plastic insert in the seat track. This HHR has the leather/power/heated seats. This protusion is on the rail next to the trans tunnel, and is sticking out about 3-4". Can I cut this off? Try to force it back into the track? What? Again, I wish I could post a picture, but, it makes it a little difficult to get comfy behind the driver's seat.

Sound like it is the rear heat duct, if you have the seat all the way up.

First off. Don't cut something off if you don't know what it is.
It may be a part of the seat track assembly. Who knows.
A picture sure would help. So, why can't you post up a picture?

Dug up this picture if it helps. It shows the drivers seat unbolted in the rear and leaning toward the steering wheel.
Edit: Just look in my gallery pics for the full size picture.

OK, then, I will post the picture in my gallery tonight and then y'all can see what I'm talking about. Donbrew, I can tell a heat/cooling duct, this is DEFINITELY not anything like that, you'll see.
SS Fan, thanks for the link

Curious to see what you've got going on under there BQ, my thoughts ran to "heating duct" like the other posters.

Well, it's not ducting for the heat/cool system, it's coming off the edge of the seat track on the driver's seat.

Could be something broken on the seat slider? Should be easy to tell when we see a picture.

Here's a link to the picture in my gallery of what I am talking about. I can post more detailed pictures, if needed.
