Under body air managment is the big thing on the higher end cars right now and will find its way to all cars soon.

The industry is looking everywhere for increased mileage and better numbers.

Look at the window gaps around many of the windshields on the new GM cars. That little gap smooths air flow and help the overal numbers. To look at them you would think otherwise.

with drag, you want to also look under the vehicle. The HHR is very flat compaire to a lot of vehicles. High end cars are like that because drag isn't only on the front top and back but botton as well.

The CD is .354

The CD is .354 does anyone know what the frontal area is?
I lowered my car about 1.5 inches all the way around. Anyone know how much that helped CD? Frontal Area?
Does anyone know if a front air dam makes much of a difference?
What other improvements could be made to increase the CD?

I don't have the number for the SS yet but the front bumper has to help.

Lowering helps by keeping the air out from under the car.

The fontal area is just what it is no matter how high or low the vehicle sits from what I have read. I may be wrong but I think they only count suface area and tires.

If you see any stories on the air flow on a Chevy Volt read it as they have a lot of tricks in that car.

Most small cars today are reaching for the .29 area like the new Mazda 3.

Tires create a lot of drag the wider they are.

I am not an engineer bit I read a lot on this over they years and I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
