What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
more like what did i do FOR my HHR today.. scheduled a "face lift". Last saturday night while I was sleeping through my Buckeye game day-hangover. Somebody had hit-n-run'd my HHR. Driver side front fender was pressed in so far I could not open my door. In my feat of raged anger I managed to pull the fender out enough to be able to open my door and it clear the fender.. Me and my brothers continued our scheduled plan (Import Face Off at National Trails dragstrip) and when I returned I called the police and filed a report.. I called today to make the claim.. and was enlightened. I do have to pay my $500 deductible, but I get free rental and my rates do not increase, along with still keeping my safe driver, and accident free discounts. THANK GOD lol I only pay $85 a month for full coverage and im 23. So now I can finally get her fixed and back out on the road without the "pointing finger of public".
Sorry to hear that some scumbucket used your ride as a bumper car, post up some pice when it's back from the bodyshop.
And if you didn't already, insist that only GM parts be used, there are "pattern" HHR collision parts out there and they don't fit worth a darn.

I need help deciding if I should change my battery.
Took it to Advance for a load test everything says "good" including alternator. I don't really trust them because my last car tested "good" and needed regular jump starts.
However, my inverter has been screaming after I sit engine off for 10 minutes, and every start after I leave it on even for 2 minutes. I leave the inverter running most of the day. The inverter manual says the alarm is set for 11.8 Volts.
Checked with my OBDII tool. Alternator is running at 14.7 Volts, then down after a while. Battery at shut down 12.9 Volts, after sitting ignition on engine off for 10 minutes 12 Volts. Battery at shutdown 12.9 Volts after sitting 45 minutes completely off, 11.9 Volts.
I have a new battery in the garage, should I wait until it gets really cold or do it now?

One of those danged if you do, danged if your don't deals Don, and it hasn't really gotten "cold" yet. Being that your HHR is a business tool along with being your daily driver, I'd throw in the new battery at least for a few days to see how things behave.
If the inverter stops complaining, then you've eliminated the battery as the one possible problematic variable, it sounds like you're alternator is just fine.

...so taking a drive later on just for fun.

And this is one car that you can do that.
I enjoy my HHR's more then any car I have owned to just jump in and take a drive.
Especially once you get them fixed right and the way you want them.
My latest one is now pretty much noise free except for an ocassional slight noise from the front end on bumpy roads. Lots of little Tweaks.
Of course I have to say I used to buy mostly Suburbans from 1974 to the 90's.
Then I went to Astro Vans and then Venture Vans.
Saw lots of cars I liked over the years but needed the HD utility aspect for my business.

Oh I had great things planned today involving detailing, cabin air filter changing, and replacing a burned out RF corner marker bulb on Paddy.
But last night I tried to do that Miley Cyrus "Twerking" thing to get a laugh, well I Twerked to the left, then I Twerked to the right, and threw my back out.
From now on, I stick to pulling funny faces and telling bad jokes, I'll leave the butt wagglin' to the young 'ins.
