What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Today was a misty cool day,, here in the deep South, so, I took the time to swap in new front struts on the HHR to go along with the new back shocks. I bought the "Quick change" units off Ebay (don't have to compress spring, just swap whole unit) and the first one took a while, but, it was a learning experience, The second was a breeze. Now all the quick change units on Ebay don't come with the swaybar end links, mine did, but, found out the links I got were too long, ended up leaving the OEM ones on. So check before installing.
Just got done readjusting the rear damper on my coilovers. It was a bit too soft so I stiffened it up. Much better now. Also pulled off the hella supertone covers and painted them to match my car...they were red and didn't go with anything.
Sat quietly in my '07 (Paddington), while trying to remember why we always have a condo full of relatives every Holiday.
The steel cocoon in a locked garage allowed me to listen to Car Talk without being trampled, next year we're going to invade one of their homes and knock over their stuff.
Twenty minutes ago, my wife asked to be shot with a tranquilizer dart, sorry Babe...I'm saving it for me!

Used my DIY cross bars today to bring some some lumber home. Made these last summer, and have used them a few times..... Square aluminum tubing, mending plates, nuts and bolts are what I used. Spray painted black and added end caps. Really not bad for occasional light duty use, and not too spendy either.... :
New Grill
Installed a new Custom Chrome Mesh front grill today look's good, sorry no pictures yet. Got the grill on ebay for $70 last week. How I can spend some time and make a 3 bar grill out of my stock grill.
One of the nuts is going to drive you crazy finding the right combination of extensions, sockets and swivels. I had to use a standard size socket and then a deep well to get the job done as well as a pair of wobbly extensions. You'll see when you get in there between the springs.
I saw that, so I unbolted the lower shock bolt and dropped the springs out and have a clear shot at the nuts at the back , but the hubs aren't here yet ! so it'll be on stands till tomorrow , apparently Easter weekend slowed the delivery a day
Changed the headlight bulbs since one went out. Washed and painted my steelies(w/ all season tires) since it's getting a little warm for the winter tires and someone hasn't gotten new tires so i can buy their wheels and tires...
