What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Used the rear cargo area to haul 35 bags of 25 litres of garden soil, I sat and watched as the guy at the nursery loaded the HHR, and while the kid next door lugged them off to the back gardens, that was easy!
Changed oil, replaced air filter, and replaced the spark plugs. My HHR is at 95000 miles, but with the Jersey winter approaching and no garage to use, I figured I'd do the plugs now. Bought it used in February so I wasn't aware of any previous work done to it. Got new AC Delco iridium plugs to drop in, but when I took the plugs out they were Bosch Double Platinum. Glad I decided to do it, and there's a bit of a difference in it already. Next week is the fun wheel hub replacement.
Stainless steel tailpipe extension yesterday. First mod! It feels faster already, haha. I'm going to paint or plastidip the rusty-looking steel wheels this weekend, then on to the marker light/blinker mod.
some of you guys really are into the plastic dip.
that is expensive stuff.
i 1st saw this product (or one like it) in 1980. came only in gallons. $25 per gallon back then.
brushed it on a cabin top of a wooden boat. lasted and performed well for a couple of years outside, in the elements, before drying out and cracking open in 1st random, then many spots. had to peel it off.

Home Depot and Lowes sell it in rattle cans for $5-6 per can. Some guys here say 4-5 cans will do all four wheels. I'm going to give it a shot, and if it looks like garbage I'll just peel it off and go another route!
Drove Paddy to work, parked him in the hanger surrounded by ant traps. Charlotte-Douglas International Airport has been overrun by red ants, folks who have left their cars in long term parking have returned to find them infested.
Red ants can play pure havoc with a car's wiring plus HVAC, and they're just plain tenacious little buggers. The airport has already spent close to six figures on pest control and "de-anting" cars.
Our hanger has been squirted and sprayed wth enough pesticides to do in every ant in the county, but I'm not taking any chances, so before I left for New York City...the line crews had a grand time poking fun at the Chief Pilot and his box of ant traps.
I hate ants if you haven't guessed it already.
