I'm Baaaack!

Flew home from Venezuela this afternoon, and boy are my arms tired!

But seriously, it's great to be back in the U.S. What a trip, the Venezuelan people are very nice, the government much less so...our hotel phones were tapped for example.

My faithful '06 was waiting for me in the hanger, and I drove it home, and that's about all I'm going to "do" to an HHR until next week. I'm bushed, and I've got to catch up on lost time with my wife and son.

This week end I took the Mickey mobile to my dad's and installed the new hitch and brought back the trailer base and floor for the small teardrop cargo trailer I'm gonna build.

Take many photos Roy, a nice "Trailer Build" thread would be great...hint, hint.

Mine stayed parked today while we cheered on our neighbors at Stewart/Hass Racing as Kevin Harvick picked up his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.

Including the seven titles won by our hometown hero Dale Earnhardt, and the 2011 title won by Tony Stewart, Kevin's win marks the 9th time that NASCAR's top prize has come home to Kannapolis. We're all as proud as we can be of our local team, and we're very excited that our little town will be the home of the Haas Automation/Ferrari Formula 1 team starting in 2016.

Found out that if the car is running, the fob will not unlock the doors... I started the car to get some warm air going by the time I left, then locked it and went back inside to finish getting ready for work. Hit my wifes key fob and it didn't do anything... Luckily the key still unlocked the door, or I would've been in a pickle.

Untrue. I have my spare key in my car 100% of the time so I can start it to either cool off, or warm up, depending on the time of year, and my key fob ALWAYS works. 2 conditions it may not, 1. Battery low or dead, or 2. the contacts on the back of the buttons are dirty and should be cleaned.

Hmmm... I'll have to look into that then. The fobs are just this side of brand new(got em from GDZHHR), so they shouldn't be dirty. As far as I know it's still the factory battery, so I guess that's a possibility, but I haven't had any symptoms of a low battery either.

If they are old and un-used, they still age and deteriorate just like another battery..
