What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
2008 lt panel big weekend projects
Greetings from the great white north (my usual winter salutation but in light of the events in Buffalo I guess I will change to) Greetings from the frozen tundra
I purchased this 2008 LT panel in late Sept and have been accumulating parts and pieces to transform it into the panel that I want to drive. This weekends projects include the usual cast of characters.
1. exterior
depos, ss rear spoiler, luggage rack cross bar delete, lawn and garden front
spoiler/air dam, and black out grille
2. chassis /suspension
ss springs front and rear, kyb struts and shocks, ss brake rotor conversion
on the front with new pads, complete cobalt rear axle swap with new
calipers and rotors/pads and new sway bay links(hoping to rid the car of
"the noise").
I have a few more things to do but for now the daily driver is pretty close to where I want it. I know that all of this is irrelevant without pictures (I really thought I knew how to post them) and I will figure it out shortly

1st attempt at posting pictures hopefully they are the right size!!
A lot of work but it all came out great although "the noise" is still in the front a little quieter but still there when on bumpy roads
(Resized your images for you, if you copy and paste the "Direct Link Code" into the Insert Image box after you backspace over the redundant "Http:", your images will be a consistent size.)843de

My 2011 LT has 2 cats and a resonator. The 2008 LT had only 1 cat, no resonator.
Since nobody uses gas machines for emissions testing anymore you can use the older (and cheaper) 1 cat DP, unless you care about the earth.
Theoretically the second cat and the resonator do have a role in back pressure, and therefore performance. Not my theory, just stuff I read somewhere.
Today I re installed my POS new DP. There were 3 bad welds, I had a guy fix them for $10. The sensor readings are different, it'll take a couple of weeks before I know if P0420 is gone for good.
DO NOT buy a cat from Ulta-Exhaust in Canada. The product is bad. The customer service is non-existent.

Last week it was 14 degrees here, this afternoon I had the A/C button pushed on the way home, Mother Nature is off her meds again.
Filled up the '06 with $2.48 a gallon regular at the Costco on Tyvola Road, surprised that gas is still heading down with Gobble Day coming up.

Changed the oil and filter on Saturday. Then on Sunday I discovered the plastic piece on my oil dipstick had broken off in the tube. Well, now I gotta drop the pan to retreave it and basically do another oil change. Good news is the replacement dipstick is on the way.
