What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Did a dry run of installing brembo brakes on my 2010 LT . It went well, rebuilt the calabers and installed them on the car. Then put the wheel adapters on to see if the steel 16 " rim would clear the brakes . Yes they did, so tomarow new A-arms and new front brakes.
Blew the left front door speaker in Paddy while cranking ZZ Top's "Gotsta Get Paid" on the way home last night.
I've been meaning to upgrade them eventually, now I'll be re-reading a bunch of Audio/Speaker threads to see what the majority of y'all prefer.

Hold on here, Walkowg, did you mean you fit Brembo calipers on your LT and used adapters to fit 16 inch stock steel rims over them? We need pictures .
843de, time to order up some new speakers or swap one over from your Panel project!
Today I'm just chilling , literally it's just 18 degrees F here! But under clear blue sky & sunshine!! I think I'll listen to Sun songs today, Mr. Blue Sky; ELO, Here comes the Sun; George Harrison, I'll follow the sun; Beatles, I might draw the line at K. C. And the Sunshine Band, but get in Sundown; Gordon Lightfoot.

And he is still building to lower it more!!
Today, another frigid cold day but sunny skies , yesterday my drivers side doors were frozen shut so I had to climb through from the passengers side to turn the HHR around to have that side in the sun for the day, I hope it works !

When its thawed out Oldblue, scoot to your local auto parts store for some silicone spray lubricant, squirt that on a rag and apply it liberally to your door seals.
The silicone won't harm the seals, and your doors shouldn't freeze shut again unless its covered with a layer of ice(think freezing rain).
I know you're well enough "in the know" to be aware that grabbing the outside handle and pulling on a frozen HHR door is a big "No No", in the worst sort of way.
But I'll add it here for our newer members, so that hopefully they'll not break off a handle, or damage the "guts" in the door...which will ruin your day.
My body is stuck on Eastern time, not Wyoming time, so I'm really AWAKE right now.

The ice was built up at the front of the door around the hinges and the top of the running boards, I could see it there and yes I do know " don't go tuggin' on them plastic handles!!!!
A little warm tap water poured on it thawed it out this morning! When it was -8 F out! Burrrr

Ah Oldblue, the ice down the leading edge of the door deal, it's a known HHR bugbear.
Some folks will put a blanket over the windshield/cowl area before a snow storm, I can recall a member here who forced his front door open when there was a build-up of ice like you described.
He didn't de-handle the door, or break the latch guts. He just bent the living snot out of his fender.
I'm rethinking the Avis Corvette I'm driving until Sunday, even with the driver's seat all the way down in "Gangsta Style", my head and the roof are meeting on every bump. It's getting old pretty fast, but this new generation of 'Vettes can really haul butt when you feel like it.
