What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Didn't do much to Red today, but I did don a partial Santa suit for a Mardi Gras parade. It was a hit and I was bombarded! The kids figured out real quick where they should be. The rude adult chick was the downer.
Since it's 5 am, I guess this is a what I did yesterday with my HHR.
After getting back from Cheyenne Wyoming(super friendly folks out there), my wife and son picked me up at our Flight Office.
And then I had to dry Michelle's tears, she accidentally "tagged" the trailer hitch on a Ford Expedition Saturday morning in the supermarket parking lot with our '06 Daily Driver.
The damage to the Ford was non-existant, the '06's right front fender and leading edge of the door are creased and lightly crumpled.
After we get through the snow and ice forecast for Charlotte over today and Tuesday, I'll hose off the road salt and snap a pic or two.
With 321,000 miles on the clock, and the purely cosmetic nature of the damage, I think the 'Ol Critter will wear its battle scars until Spring.

Nothing yesterday, nothing today, nothing on Wednesday either.
We're in the midst of a real bugger of a classic Southern ice storm, the traffic accidents are up in the hundreds, NC DOT is in all-out Panic Mode, and the state is effectively shut down for now.

Hopefully Winter will be over by then.
As for me today, it's too icy to even stand up outside, so I'm looking for a right front fender and door in black for the '06.
I could bump the crease and dents out of the original sheet metal, but if I find the right parts at the right price, it'll save time.
My wife is still feeling very chagrined over tagging that Expedition on Saturday.
Found a right front fender and door in black for my '06, they're just across the state line in South Carolina.
So if the forcasted freezing rain on Saturday turns out to be a case of pessimistic weathermen going for ratings, instead of a rerun of yesterday's ice storm, I'll be heading down to pick them up.
$200 for a clean door and fender is cheap compared to the "fun" of bumping the crease and dents out of the current sheet metal.
Besides, Bondo dust makes me sneeze like it's going out of style.
