My new ride

One thing I could not deceide on was what I wanted to replace the HHR with. I was looking all over the place at used cars, several makes and models. ANd usually walked away just frustrated. Last Saturday I was at a local Hyundia dealership looking at some used cars, when I noticed my neighbors son worked there. He asked what I was looking for and I told him I wasn't sure, but I hadn't found it yet either....

The next day he calls me around 6 and tells me he wants to show me something that was just traded in, not much info, but he said I might like it. So the next day I go visit. His first thing is he wants me to test drive a 2015 Elantra to get a free $25 gift card, sure, why not. I pick out a well loaded SE model and we take off. He asks how I like it and I tell him in my work we buy Elantra's and Sonata's so I'm very familier with them. As we are talking, a extremely dirty silver Elantra pulls up right in front of me. He tells me this is what he wanted to show me. I walk around and notice different 17" wheels, a spoiler and exhaust tip (not normal on a Elantra), I see a sunroof, LED tails and LED headlight accents.. I open the door and see 4 aluminum petals and a 6 speed manual.

He said they are still checking it in and hasn't been cleaned yet, but he wanted me to see it as he though it would be long. Purchased last year by a woman, she got pregnant and traded it in on a Sante FE. 5573 miles. I sit down and it's got leather, backup cam, push button start, just about everything. He thought initially it was a Limited, but it's a sport and has the 2.0 instead of the normal 1.8. So we go for a ride, and did it every put a smile on my face. So we talk price and I basically got it for what a base Elanta SE lists for and needless to say, it came home with me.......

Yea, not an American car, but those in Alabama might disagree... Oh well, I'm happy with it.

Congrats on your new ride solman, but remember that just because your HHR has gone to "The Parking Lot In The Sky", don't be a stranger here Buddy.

Bowtie or not, you'll always be part of the family here.

Those Hyundai 2.0's are no joke, and I bet you have fun with it.

Here's a Challenge for you Solman.. Find someone with a modified HHR SS down there, and stop by a Drag Strip. Do a couple passes against the HHR SS, and let us know how it goes! I would be interested to know!

I personally wouldn't own a Hyundai. The Elantra got pretty horrid reviews from Car and Driver. Hopefully it'll be a good ride for you though man...best of luck with it.

We have them at work and they have been good as fleet vehicles. No issues with standard and hybrid models. We have lots more issues with GM and Ford and many more with Chrysler.

I read car and drivers review, and I put them in line with consumer reports. We've all read the bad reviews on the HHR and we know what the true actually is with them.

Most of the bad reviews of the HHR are true. There's turds out there of all shapes and sizes and that goes the same for car manufacturers.
