What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Neighbor backed in Black Beauty
My neighbor backed in Black Beauty. Hit mostly the rear bumper but there is a small dent on bottom of fender.
In Michigan with our "No Fault" insurance, and since I was legally parked, the neighbors insurance will pay bill in full, so I'll have no deductible to pay and it won't affect my insurance.
I would like to fix it myself. I'll need a new bumper fascia (or repair it) and fix the small dent. It is easy to get to and I should be able to bump it and paint it easily.
I have not worked on the new plastic bumper fascias. Are they easily repairable? Do they make a special filler for the type of plastic from which it is manufactured?
I have not done any painting or refinishing in about 15 years so I don't know much about the newest products.
Please anybody chime in.

Ouch - the dent in the plastic bumper might just pop out from the backside (but it's hard to say from the picture, but it's worth a try).
Since it's the others guys tab, why not just let a body shop take care of it? If you mess it up, or don't manage to do it yourself to a level of what makes you happy, you will be screwed as far as getting the insurance company to fix it.

Washed HHR, even used a toothbrush to get rid of the "moss" under the windows and rubber window strips, and cleaned the inside of the back hatch window of a mess of dog drool. Oil level perfect, topped up windshield washer fluid, check anti-freeze. Good nuff for now. :)
Thanks Sn00py, I thought that was in error but I didn't want to say anything cause I wasn't sure.

I think you are mistaken regarding the highlighted area above. You have the option costs reversed......it is $1725 retail for the auto. Ask me how I know
Also, speaking of the Corvette, GM lists the 8 speed auto slightly faster than the manual 8 speed in 0-60 and the 1/4 mile. So to a certain extent "super Cars may witness a more serious decline in the sales of manual trans. But at this time the manual still rules on the track. But that change is coming also.

Hey Boydie,
Too bad BB got kicked in the behind. As others have said the bumper "should" push back out . Sorry never refinished one. Doesn't look too deep in the pic. I'm wondering if a polish and a few layers of touch up paint wouldn't do the trick.
When in doubt pay someone who has no doubt.
All of the above comes with the caveat that any advice you get on the internet is worth what you paid for it.
