Hey speedwagen, great hearing from you again Buddy, and congrats on HHR #2!

Foggy & damp yesterday morning, and the early traffic reports had I-85 & I-485 in their usual "crash-tacular" modes, so the HHR's stayed parked while I took Buford the Crown Vic Interceptor to the Flight Office.

Then a round trip flight to Minnesota and the Mayo Clinic in Air Ambulance mode.

Brakes

This week, I replaced all the brakes, discs/drums and master cylinder. I read where the master cylinder was impossible to get to with the fuse box in front of it. There was a simple solution. Only a few bolts hold the box. Unbolt and then use a bungee cord to hold it away from the master cylinder. I attached it to the hood piston. Easy job. It is also a good idea to disconnect the battery. I used a bleeder for air removal, but the old pump the pedal worked better. Went around the car four times to get it all out. Use DOT 3 brake fluid. Overall, it is an easy job with one tough fitting. Putting the emergency cable back into the new shoes is a bear, so take a deep breath and don't put it in backwards. Car stops better than new.

Just a sit down and rest day , Sweetie has her chemo pump hooked up , so she's very tired and sleepy. The HHR sat in the driveway and I slept through the 6 PM Crank it up!!
Bad husband, Bad!!!
Today looks like more of the same , her pump will be empty on Tuesday, then she'll perk up a bit!

Did the front brakes a couple days ago. Been getting the steering wheel shimmy deal when brakes applied. So that's usually warped rotors.
Well I went to take the right front apart and found the caliper mounting bracket loose. Nice..
Guess who did the last brake job the previous owner had done. WalMart...
Decided to go ahead and get the rotors turned and install new pads anyway. Rotors only took .004 on both sides to flatten out. Very little.
All is well now........

Christmas Tree Day, so the '06 was lined with cargo blankets and old sheets to catch needles and sap before Dusty and I went a tree huntin', yup an HHR can swallow a seven foot tall Norway Spruce with some dignity remaining.

Then the "fun" began. One three year old little boy + four cats and two grown ups = chaos on a grand scale.

But now the tree is up, the lights are aglow, Jack Jr. the kitten has decided to replace the Angel on top twice already, and Dusty is asleep in front of the tree while Thomas the Tank Engine circles endlessly pulling some "Troublesome Trucks".

Michelle is curled up against me snoring gently, and she has the right idea.

Maybe this year Santa will bring me all the goodies I earmarked in the Griot's Garage catalog, or the Lionel catalog.

Tree sounds nice 843de,
we always had a fake tree here , we get sick
around a real tree.

Had the Panel out yesterday for alittle exercise and a tire repaired.
Almost got hit twice with it tooo. The second time i was on the interstate.
bafoon decided he needed to be in front of me in the far left lane.
For the Wagon i spent alittle money on it.
Have brakes and rear shocks coming for it.

Hmm...Oldblue, I see that Nacho enjoys an inverted view of the world too, has to be a cat thing I guess.

Michelle is flat wiped out by the decorating "fun", heck we all are, Dusty slept under the tree for six hours before Jack Jr. derailed Thomas and woke him up.

I've got "Lay Minister" duty at church in seven hours and a bit, do I have a Sermon written, nope.

Will Michelle be scribbling notes over Paddy's rumbling burble as we take the "scenic route" to church, yes.

Do I ever compose a Sermon in advance, nope. Everytime I do, it doesn't work as well as one composed off the cuff on a twisty back road.

He works in mysterious ways, in my case, the "deep and profound" thoughts require holding onto a steering wheel or the controls of an aircraft.

My dids included...

...renewing the license (the new plates are still laying on top of my computer desk)

....getting a can of SEM Flame Red vinyl paint from ebay that I'll use on the door panels come warmer weather

...checking out some of the wood dash kits...(They looked GREAT on the Corvette)

...and having some conversation with the upholstery guy about the seats.

Luckily the HHR is tucked away in a storage shed for the winter, and it was the PT Cruiser that took us to the casino yesterday and saw us BOTH loose far to many $$$$$$$$$

Looks like another rest up Sunday!!
Just a sermon suggestion here Mike!
The value of friendship and the support we receive during our time of struggle to understand a situation in life, the resilience of our faith in our beliefs and our ability to survive and become stronger through friendship!
Cheers everyone keep smiling in really does help!!
