2) How many did you work on when the crankcase was full of gas due to the fuel pump going bad? And I will agree, did an oil change, and the engine kept on going.

Well This is Embarrassing!

Soooo, I've been thinking for awhile, say five years, that I owned a 2.4. Turns out I have a 2.2. That being said, I'm learning stuff every day about my HHR now that I'm on the forum and I couldn't be happier.

Also, if you've never clayed your paint before, do it. It makes a world of difference. I spent some time today washing, claying, and using a rubbing compound. The paint looks so nice, well except the front bumper and passenger door, but body work soon. Tomorrow will be polish and wax.

Took a cruise over to Smithville Ontario, for a meet and greet and a cup of coffee with the_shmoo.
His 2006 HHR is as clean as they come and nicely decked out.
Thank for the coffee, and great conversation about our favourite trucklets!

You are welcome. Always enjoy a G2G with fellow enthusiasts to share ideas and solutions to these fun vehicles.
Hard to believe you have over 300,000 k on your well maintained HHR.
A must do again.

After a Cleaning

Finished the outside today. Well finished mabye not the correct term. I didn't polish and wax the front bumper because, well it's just in horrible shape and I'm getting ready to do some work on it i.e. fix a crack, shave the humps, and fix some other damage (wife). Wheel wells aren't cleaned either. What's the best way that to get them super clean? Tires are getting changed once they're delivered on island. Wheel covers are being painted , just waiting on color match Rustoleum to get here. I will be painting the wheels also, they need some love. Also the panels forward of the rear wheels are terrible. But here are the first pictures of her not looking completely bad. I'm trying to stop neglecting Big Red and take better care in her middle age.

So I melted a headlight cover tonight. First time taking apart a headlight housing. I'm just glad it's the stock one and not my Depo. Trying to get fitment correct on installation of projectors. It's been a nice week off. But back to work for a half day on Friday, then more car work this weekend, with pictures.

Took a ride out to Grimsby Ontario, so Sweetie could sign her retirement package! 43 years is enough for her!
