What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Happy Memorial Day Weekend
While getting ready for a weekend full of Barbeque to kick off the summer, please don't forget the meaning of this holiday.
Today I ran a can of seafoam spray in preparation for plugs and an oil change tomorrow. At lunch today at work I machined a flange for my new intake house out of Teflon. I also finished my final mock up for the intake. It only took about ten trials to get fitment correct. I'm glad I had quite a bit of cardboard around that hasn't been recycled yet. Do you guys see anything wrong with this set up that might cause problems? Just looking for opinions before I spend the time to make the scoops and more importantly, cut up my new air box tomorrow. I'm planning on leaving the plastic cover on the radiator off.
Oh, I also picked up some vinyl stickers from a local sign shop for the calipers and drums.

I like the stoned people dancing in Eddie's vid.
Neat! Then you'll remember Eddie Kendricks

I found this seepage from the transmission pan today while doing an oil change. The gasket had been broken for some time I believe. I drained the atf and got maybe five quarts in the drain bucket. But fixed now and with the correct fluid level, new filter, and gasket. Also did plug change, cabin air filter change, and finished up the new intake hoses and scoops. I'm sure there will be changes that will need to be made, but happy with them for now. Also installed a dry filter bag on the air filter just in case any water gets up the hoses during heavy rain.
Completed a coolant flush today. The Chilton and Haynes manuals make getting to the water pump drain plug look easy, in the fact that the picture shows a bolt with no interference. I really found it a major PITA.
Started painted my hubcaps today. I'm going to see how they look while still deciding if I want to keep bare Steelies on. I just have to figure out some way to hide the hubs besides just paint if I go that route. Shouldn't be too hard. I don't like the look of weights on the outside either, can they be moved to the inside?

If you can install stick on weights they are placed towards the middle of the rim on the inside.
Balanced many using static and dynamic machines.
