What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
aradmahogany
Disconnect the MAF sensor.
Remove the air cleaner box out of the way. Remove rubber goose-neck and tube.
I had my wife hold down the accelerator. (ignition on, but do not start. once butterfly is open disconnect electrical connector, and butterfly will remain open)
Remove 4 10mm bolts.
Clean inside throttle body, use throttle body cleaner.(do not move the butterfly, terrible things will happen)
Reverse to install torque bolt to 89 INCH POUNDS.
Hope this helps. Take your time it's an easy job.

When I first cleaned mine (3 years ago), I did the same thing except I just put a brick on the accelerator to keep the butterfly open (ignition on of course). I nearly flooded the engine using this method, however. Oldblue gave me a great tip of actually removing the whole assembly without unplugging it. I will try that next. Spraying too much cleaner in there its a straight shot to the intake manifold, and Gregg was upset with how I treated him LOL.
Brick on the throttle will also tell the computer to get the injectors to spray fuel! Very bad idea!
Yesterday a trip to Aunts in Erie, I finally got that panel Dave, a very belated thank you!!
Oldblue was quite, non of the usual frontend squeaks, rattles or thumps.
No brake judders, got 33.2 mpg , turned over 243,000 miles.
Today , I got the high brake light panel installed, again thank you Dave!!
Colour sanded and buffed and polished to ugly paint repair I started last summer, battery operated drills are great but I only have two batteries, so it takes awhile!
Cleaned and detailed the interior, wiped all the gunk off the door jams and well that was that!
Time for a spray of nitroglycerin and nap!!

Clay Barred the HHR !
Clay barred the HHR last night. Iv'e done this before on my old Chrysler and this time was a bit faster but not much. Used the Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit and then the Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Liquid Wax 2.0 - The reason this process was a little faster was that the Meguiar's clay bar is white and very soft. The last one was an Auto Magic bar - grey and a little firmer. Years ago, my dad worked for an Auto Magic distributor and we got to 'sample' just about all of the products.
