What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Very nice 2007! Time for some mods?
Today , we’ve been house bound for a couple of days, so off to the country for fresh eggs, turkey and milk.
We might just stop out for a cup of coffee!
And there’s a new white panel sitting in a used car lot near us, I spotted on the way to a Doctors appointment last Saturday. I might just check that out.

I had my bumpers refinished due to the clear coat peeling off. I had a mobile body guy come to my office to do it. He also buffed out my headlights too. I have a few more cleanup things to do on it before I post if for sale
Completed cleaning up my car, took some pictures and posted it for sale on this forum, Autotrader, KBB, and CarGurus.
I know most people on this forum love the HHR. For me, it was a quick honeymoon. I originally had designs for Vintique wheels, a hood ornament, fog lights, chrome beauty bar for the tailgate and more. When the love faded so did the desire to spend money on it. I have to say the HHR has been super reliable. Besides the recalls, all I have done is regular maintenance; oil changes, two sets of tires, one set of brakes, air filters, cabin filters and wiper blades.
I needed more room, more power, more options. I recently bought a 2017 Subaru Legacy Limited 3.6R that has almost every option available.

Replaced the fuel injectors. Fuel economy had been dropping and it would occasionally throw a transient P0172 code. Loading up Torque revealed that long term fuel trim was pretty much maxed out lean. In addition, it had recently developed a starting quirk that made it like starting a highly modified race engine. I figured one or more injectors was piddling the fuel that was in the rail into the cylinders and said fuel was puddling on the piston tops.
Four new injectors later, it fired right up and settled into a nice smooth idle. A 10 mile test run indicated fuel burn at a steady 50 mph close to 40 miles per gallon. I'm eager to make a highway run.

Related to my project to get my 2010 HHR's bumpers re-attached (https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gene...-belong-59737/)
Yesterday I went to the U-Pull salvage yard, all by myself. I pulled the body parts I needed, all by myself: front bumper bar, foam insert, headlight bracket, and fender/wheel liner. All by myself. It was actually easy!
(I did print out the thread on bumper removal, that was a big help, watched a YTube video on removing the bumper, and had a great chat with hellshotrod.)
While I was there, I also bought an extra cargo cover (the plastic fitted piece), so now I can have one at cargo level, for an flat bed, and another to hide whatever I have in the back. And a cover for the "fog light" hole, because I was missing one.
The parts are now at the body shop! Hopefully it'll be done this week, then it's off to get its Brake-and-Light inspection, then a DMV VIN inspection, ... then re-registration!
The end is in sight!
