I tired to Google your question and can't find a definite answer. The only thing with Cobalt is all a non SS Cobalts had the stamp steel LCA's. All HHR's have aluminium LCA's. Non SS have different ball joints than SS.
Since both the HHR and Cobalt are built on the same platform (chassis) I can't see a problem using the steel vs aluminium arms.
Do you have tire wear? Or steering problems?

So now that I have my exhaust parts in house...

I've been looking at what, quite possibly, appear to be the last set of Ground Force lowering springs on the planet. Ground Force says NLA. I've had their "leveling springs" in the rear of mine for years but never the fronts. I really like those back springs but they have been used and abused over the last 6 years, overloaded at times... The NAPA shop owner where I get my work done says putting those springs on my "lifetime" struts won't affect the warranty.

So... I bought the set.

So... anyways.

I'm not satisfied with the Magnaflow downpipe so I just ordered the ZZP. Should have done that in the first place.

Washed and cleaned the K&N air filter, let it sun dry then lightly reapplied the oil.
While the snorkel was out, I noticed no oil or any condensation sucked out of the valve cover, I did give the throttle body a cleaning, then on to the K&N cabin air filter, washed it and let it sun dry, a spritz of that oil and reinstalled it. Drove off to Niagara Falls and down the river to Fort Erie, enjoyed to rattle shake free drive!

Today, remove the winter steelies, clean and put them away , then install the WV rally’s , pop on the baby moons and roll out for a cruise, better late then skip the whole summer!
With the LCA bushings replaced, a much smoother ride!

Bumper guards

Put on some bumper guards. I like the way they look on the white hhr.

Waiting on car parts via UPS... Two different orders, on different days, from totally different places somehow made it on the same truck for delivery today.

I couldn't have done that if I tried.
