What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Finally cooled off enough to swap out the factory radio and door speakers. Got everything from Crutchfield. Went with a Pioneer digital media player, and Kicker 6.5" 2 way speakers. I also had an Infinity BassLink 200 watt powered sub from my previous vehicle, that was going in. Soldered up the wiring harness over coffee. Swapping the head unit was the easiest part. Total time for running RCA lead & remote turn on wire for my sub, the Bluetooth mic, and the head unit was about 45 minutes. Then it was on to the door speakers. Started with the driver door. Guess it was better to get the one with the most connections out of the way first. By the time I got to the rear doors, things were going a lot faster. Probably spent 3 hrs on speaker replacement, but it seems a lot longer than that. I had ordered the foam speaker "baskets", but didn't use them, as the factory speakers were clean and dry. Fantastic improvement for a $280 investment. Will probably replace the tweeters in the pillars sometime in the future.
