Gave the new wheels a 200 mile torque check, and then took Paddy out for a drive in the country again. Stopped for some methane free gas in China Grove, blew the doors of a ditz in a Mitsubishi Lancer that thought it was an Evo judging by all the junk hanging on it, and came home. Good day all around, and the first time I had to punch on the A/C in 2011, 75 and sunny here.

I thought I was going out to drive my nice clean car this morning, opened the garage door to find snow on the ground so that clean lasted to the end of the drive way. Did you have to say sunny and 75 ??

I took the HHR SS out for a nice wash with wheel and tire detail. Then I took the new Wheel Vintiques chrome smoothies and Baby Moons to the tire store and had them install Continental DWS tires. I then went back to the wash place and had them do the wheel and tire detail on the new tires and rims. So why did I bother to detail the stockers? Because I have them sold to another board member, so I wanted them nice for him. I am driving from Denver to Iowa to meet him part way tomorrow - looking forward to a nice raod trip between blizards! Pics of the new set-up to follow.

I have my spoiler mounted, along with a stubby antenna.
I took the rear bow tie off to paint red to match the Victory Red, but I cracked it into three pieces in the process. I glued it back together..but it shows.
I need to get another Bowtie and try again.
Mr Horsepower got stuck on the rear window just for kicks. Name: spoiler 1.jpg

It was about 60° here today so a trillion tons of snow melted.

I took a 60 mile backroads ride through dirty salty puddles and now have the filthiest HHR in the Universe.
Then I changed the oil/filter while cranking Iron Maiden ~ Powerslave on the shop-boombox and reset my DIC.

Tomorrow I'm going to dig out my hose and spray her down. And soap her up. Then spray her again.

Cool I totaled it !

It was my little red rocket sled from work but still loved that car as much as I do Vampirella. Approaching an intersection in town ( yes I will open her up and step out in cornfields across rural De./Md. but chill in the cities. I saw the light change and began to decelerate to make the stop line. As it was not normal it took a second to register that we were NOT braking ... it was at this point I lost it ...

I failed , I locked up I believe my foot was still on the brake but it did nt respond till a few seconds after and basicly went into a skid. There was residue from all the salt and sand and I slid 12 feet across the stop line into oncomming traffic. ****ing the wheel did shift the direction enough we were both spared a dierct 90 degree hit to the Drivers side. Last I remember I was straining against the Belt to throw myself away from the impact , and then the Air Bag delivered a near K.O> to my left jaw like a firm right hand from Joe lewis. I was a little loopy after that. I made the mistake of telling the two female ambulance attendants "yea my backs a little sore ....that was all it took BLAMO i was in a collar and on a back board and feeling like Id **** my pants in public.

I am a firm believer in being able to manipulate your machine with a firm and gentle hand like your woman. There is no real excuse because I was trained as an escort driver for Three Corp. Generals and staff by uncle sam , shift direction and hit the gas may have done it , deploying the emergency break ...there are always options and I have always said they are not accidents , they are stupidity. Well This morning I am sore and Stupid , but do not dismiss the fact I was lucky someone could have been seriously hurt , Thank whatever God you pray to we were spared ....OGRE OUT!
