Took a cruise to Fort Erie, too see the tall ships across the Niagara river , in the Buffalo harbour.
Then north on the parkway to Chippewa for lunch.
Tonight we might go to the local Welland Friday night car show.
Many cars are out before they go to Syracuse NY for the Nationals

Made an appointment with my mechanic to change the clock spring in the steering wheel. After doing some research I decided I would feel more comfortable letting a pro handle the job.

The good news is that the part came in from Rock Auto at about 1/3 the price including the taxes and shipping. Fast delivery too.

New shoes for the SS today.
Decided to go for the good stuff and got some Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ and they are quite frankly, awesome.

Rated 9 out of 10 in every category on Tire Rack, they are excellent in the wet AND dry and have a great treadware rating too.
Plus, I have to say they are the smoothest riding tires I can remember having ever.

My buddies at Pep Boys price-matched for me and I got out the door at just over a grand for 225/40/ZR18s, with alignment and warranty/road hazard.
This is the old Goodyear Eagles coming off (what slick, garbage tires those are!)

I'm having fun with my HHR... but I miss my V8 power hopefully I can a) put some money away (got a lot going on) and b) find somebody to help me rebuild mine

yes, yes they are... I had GY Eagle GT IIs on my Monte for awhile, had two accidents with them (thankfully not with other cars) because they had **** wet traction which is a must down here in FL.... I'll never buy another GY

I've done nothing substantial compared to you guys... but I did manage to fix the button on my dash compartment, removed the GM badges from the sides, and scraped off one section of the pinstriping before my thumbnail caved to the pressure.... baby steps

Yesterday, my Wife and I drove the HHR up to Amish Country to do some antique shopping and we saw this old Morris Minor Panel on the upper ledge in the giant Walnut Creek Foods retail outlet. And , No , I didn't try to buy it!
