Got the camshaft actuators, phasers , valves (or whatever you want to call them) replaced today. Easy job once the air filter housing was out of the way. No problems with unplugging the wiring connectors. The valves came out very easy. I had read some posts of folks having them stuck a little when trying to remove them. After removing the lock down bolt, I just grabbed them with small pair of pliers, tapped the side of the valve and they came right out.
Having the RPD unit I dialed up that gauge and could confirm it's back to working correctly. Cleared the P0010 code and went for about a 15 mile ride. No CEL's returned. The CEL had been coming on regular after about 6-8 miles with the old valves.
I guess it will be good for another 10 years!

Cool FMG.

After some running down south, mine got a well deserved bath & vacuum, all nice & clean again.

Now my Panel rests for the week end.

If this rain lets up, I am going to tackle replacing the shift boot in the Panel today.
Beautiful Italian leather boot from Redline Goods (who just happen to be having a Black Friday sale early)

Strangely, it was apparently made in Gdansk, Poland but got here pretty quickly once shipped. Very nice material for a little over $50 delivered
They have a crazy big assortment of leather colors/thread colors available too. I got a gray one with black thread.

New spare

I put new tires on a couple weeks ago so thought this would be a good time to get a full size spare... Found a matching QP2 wheel.ordered another DWS 06 & a TPMS monitor, gonna do the 5 tire rotation. Continental has a $70 rebate on the tires this month so that helped offset the cost a bit..

Have ask what did the RPD show when you had the problem ?
It looks like when operating correctly the two pointers are at 10 and 2 of a clock face.

Replaced the old lights used in my 4 light conversion, replaced back-up lights with brighter ones.
Now I'm chasing 3rd brake light issue (not working). They worked 2 weeks ago. Betting on broken wire so I must do some chasing.

Replaced 2 broken springs on the rear of the wife's 2007 LS. Pretty easy job 1 hr including the beer. Hardest part was removing small broken spring part from the insulator.
Used spare parts from my 2006 LT FE3 springs and shocks which I had previously upgraded to Cobalt TC springs and shocks.
