fixing/replacing bulbs is something we can do and try to keep ourselves busy instead of worrying about things beyond our control.

Playing with LED bulbs is tempting, but expensive. Nevertheless, I began to slowly dive into the problem. I look bulbs at Aliexpress - now it's closer to me than Rockauto. But so far I have not seen something that inspires at least a fleeting confidence.

LED's do project almost the same light spread as incadesant.
I however, like the brightness of 5700k bulbs.
And to prevent f'lashing', I turned mine down 1 rotation of the adjustment screw.

I would suggest when using the kits to start with one or two grade of higher sandpaper purchased from the hardware store than what comes in the kit. It’s crucial to get the first layer of cloudiness off, especially if it’s as cloudy as yours were. Then I take gradual steps up (down) in coarseness, using hand sanding and the sanding wheel, using spray water liberally to reduce clogging, again being patient with the sanding. I did mine in August and so far the results have lasted.

I got the same LEDs as OldBlue and have never been flashed. I was skeptical but I really like them so far. And at less than $25 a pair, it was cost effective. I did keep the old bulbs of course if I have any issues but none so far.

I stopped by my local parts palace, picked up a Dorman H13 male and female harness for $15.00 and soldered the parts I needed to repair the damaged connector, fixed, now I wait until the rain stops to put the repaired bulb back in the BlackSwan.

we had a comfortable drive to the hospital, then we’re going to stop and pick up lunch!

For off-topic, there’s always the lounge, right? Maybe someone should turn on the lights, dust off the furniture, and build a fire.

Yes there’s the lounge, but still no political content please, news information ok, but political opinions, any that sort are frowned on.
