Took a drive to my parents grave to clean off the grass clippings, wash off the marker and remember my father, he passed away in late May 1970, 52 years ago. He would have loved the HHR , it’s ride, comfort and cargo capabilities, fuel economy.
Everyone, take the time this weekend to celebrate your father, in whatever way you can! Go golfing, fishing, racing or take in a car show!

Today, I tackled that leaking output shaft seal in the passenger side, I managed to remove the stub shaft, cleaned the seal area of the housing, installed the outer seal with a coat of Permatex Automatic transmission RTV , I installed the stub shaft into the cv axle , then installed the cup seal with some RTV on the inner part that contacts the stub shaft, a little white lithium grease on the seal and reinstalled the axle and stub shaft assembled.
I splurged for a new axle nut, torqued all fasteners to spec, I’m going to let it sit for tonight, test drive it tomorrow and check the transmission fluid level, fingers crossed this does the trick!
that outer seal goes in real easy when the stub shaft isn’t in the way!
I also spotted an oil leak from the gasket at the water pump access cover, cleaned and RTV sealed.
That was a fun 3 hours.

Put a brand new cat on the new to me LT, someone stole it just before i bought the car. Also had to do a downstream 02 sensor (they got that to). Whats "service ESC" mean on the info center? not there now but saw that and a bunch of other codes before i replaced the 02 sensor, cleared codes and seem to be gone now.

Usually a low voltage battery sets that notice. Not enough voltage to run the computers and start the engine.

Today , went out started the BlackSwan and rolled it back in the driveway 5 feet, got out and the drip is still there! Exploratory investigation into this tomorrow or Wednesday!

Happy Father’s Day!

I went with the ZZP. Beautiful and awesome product but will throw codes without a downstream O2 sensor insulator.

Mongo,
You're going to love the rear axle beam swap.
If for no other reason than it looks good.
But it does take a lot of parts to change.
