I installed a black powder coated valve cover the_shmoo gave me, I’m fabing up a lower mesh grille , just painted it black! I was out of red!

There it is under that factory air filter box!

Here the passenger side end!

And here’s the view with the air box all installed! BTW, I burped the coolant this morning, it took another 8 to 10 ounces of Dexcool. So I’ll check it on Monday.

Hmmm, now I’m not happy!
I took the HHR out for a drive, as I rolled back out of the driveway, I stopped to check for leaks.
lo and behold there’s an oil drip on the driveway! I put the HHR back in the garage, jacked it up, placed safety stands and removed the passenger side wheel, the plastic splash shield, grabbed my trusty flash light and mirror.
there is oil residue from above the oil pan gasket area, appears to be from the engine front cover. So, I’ll change that gasket next week. I inspected the water pump, it was new in 2020, no oil from any points on the bottom of it, or the housing to mounting area. The valve cover gasket is dry, I just changed it yesterday.
so, that’s the passenger side transmission output shaft seal, oil pan gasket, crankshaft seal and the water pump access plate gasket, all were leaking, all have now been replaced. Strange.

I'm kind of having the same issue.
I believe that the crankshaft seal is leaking again.
First was the FelPro seal - leaked.
Replaced with ACDelco seal - leaking.
I question if somehow I am damaging them upon installetion.

Or the harmonic balancer surface is damaged?

I ordered new front cover gasket, it’s going to be here mid next week.

Today a drive in the country! Stop for ice cream or coffee, maybe.

Installed the new black chrome grille to match the black chrome wheels. (The grille looks a little darker in the picture than it really is for some reason.) Also spiffed up the headlights a bit. Off to the peach orchard, but need to take the other car because the McGuire's clear coat on the headlights needs to cure.

Very nice grille! I like that match to the wheels, very cool!

so, after the drive we stopped by the cemetery and did the gardens, I then decided to wash the BlackSwan and now, we have company coming over this afternoon. So maybe that drive later tonight.

Saturday installed my 3rd set of wheel hubs in 141,000 Km's. Still at a total of $300 I'm ahead of the game.
Hope these one's from Rock Auto last more than 20,000 Km
Also after 16 yrs of faithful service had to say goodbye to an old friend 12V AC Delco battery installed Nov 2005
RIP old friend. .

A sad day! Shmoo, a sad day! My front cover gasket arrived today, I need the HHR as Sweetie and I have appointments tomorrow in different cities, so, I’ll be changing out the gasket on Wednesday, it’s the last place that that pesky oil leak can be coming from.

Shmoo your last hubs did we change them when we did the SS non Brembo brake swap here at my place last summer or the summer before? Last fall was you wife’s timing chain and head gasket. What brand were those?
the new ones are they the PowerStop from RockAuto?

Oldblue, Just checked my records, hubs changed June 18th 2020. (time flies) with SS rotors and brackets.
Timing chain was Ebay special.
Hubs are Power Stop from Rock Auto.
