What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
parked the car as the car has a pending P0741 . verified with hptuners that after a few minutes of driving on the freeway and once the TCC locks, once it unlocks and downshifts to 3rd it wont engage both 4th or the converter and the TCM goes from 80% psi to zero. the trans was rebuilt last year and has a 2 year/24k mile warranty and i only put less than 10k miles on it. hopefully the shop that rebuilt it covers it and most likley just pay the labor rate.
Went out for fuel in the BlackSwan on the way home as I turned into my subdivision the left front made grinding noises. I jacked it up and see the ball joint has failed, new parts on order from RockAuto. Man the shipping charges are insane!
Spent a couple of hours yesterday replacing the ball joints, the driver’s side front was damaged by potholes and train tracks the passengers side was loose but not as bad.
Today , I replaced the headlights and all 4 marker lights, photos tomorrow.

Happy Easter!! Today more parts showed up, sway bar end links and bushings, we are going to friends for Easter dinner, so I’ll maybe change them tomorrow or one day next week. The car is much quieter with the new ball joints, I have be more aggressive at missing potholes!
More parts arrived yesterday morning, so this morning I replaced noisy swaybar end links and swaybar bushings.
I also replaced passenger side output shaft seal .
At least it was just above 50 degrees F

Seal is still dry, good, I installed the summer tires, relearned the TPMS , then took a drive, no shakes , no rattling, no pulling left or right, driving or braking. The steering wheel is off to the left a few degrees. That pothole must have done more damage then just ball joints and swaybar end links.
I called my front end guy, I’m stopping by his shop 45 minutes before he opens, he thinks it’s just an adjustment to the outer tie rod ends.
