What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
It’s when you’re not lookin’!!
Today, adjusting the rear brakes, a wash and detail, the cruising out some where, no particular place!
the rear drums took one click on passengers side, 2 clicks on the driver’s side! Not a lot of dust, shoes have 80 to 90% life in them !

2011 LS got new chains yesterday after being sidelined when a broken front chain guide was discovered last week (Posted 8/22)
GM timing kit except ZZP front guide and improve top bolt, Cloyes balance kit p/n 9-4202SAX kit w/ new higher pressure tensioner spring. (Prolly shoulda made that GM too, but, oh well.) No new sprockets or water pump.
Timing chain was snug, tensioner was tight and appeared to be functioning perfectly. Damage to guide bolt was minimal. Balance chain was sloppy, tensioner was toast.
Here's why I could see the guide bolt when I looked down into the chain gallery when I had the valve cover off last week. (All pieces of guide retrieved, so no forays into the oil pan.)
The Ecotec community could really use an improved front guide that doesn't cost $80. The ZZP item is machined from a solid piece of plastic, so not unreasonable, but hopefully someone will mold one.

I’m off to treatment #25 at the clinic! Might stop for a coffee afterwards.
Pulp, $80.00 part can prevent a catastrophic engine failure, priceless!
