That's pretty, and brings back some good memories from the era.

Rebuild snaps

New timing chain kit (Cloyes # 94201SAWP) - only came with one tensioner even though 2 is required.
New water pump (came with the kit - included a front gasket but NOT the back-end gasket)
New FELPRO timing cover gasket
New head gasket (hopefully this will end the small oil leak)
New ACDelco OEM Steering rack & pinion
Brake fluid flush
Coolant flush
Oil Change
4-Wheel alignment
Also, put 2 self-tapping screws in the new intermediate steering shaft boot. This will keep it from popping out again.

Another note: anyone replace new timing chain and experience an unusual 'machine-like' smell occasionally coming through the air vents? Maybe it's the break-in smell of the new timing chain. Definitely does not smell like any oil or fluid burning.

After all this suspension work over the last couple of months, this did not correct the annoying rattle on the front-end...
Rebuild snaps

Do you have any snapshots of the engine coming up and out for the work? The other guy mentioned gasket leaks it sounds like a difficult thing to put in then pull out again to replace a gasket again.

Do you have any snap shots of getting the engine up and out to do the chain and gasket? It sounds like one of the most difficult projects that can be done on The HHR and you know eye opening that the company sold you a poor gasket for the project. I'm sorry it didn't work the first time.

You don’t need to pull the engine to replace the timing chain. Most videos are shot with the engine out for better visibility while filming.

OMG that's so exciting I didn't know that. I used Google Play Books to get Jesus Robertos The Beginniners Guide to Automotive Repair and Automotive Electronics and Electrics and am using the HHRNet for like my own labs. Do you have any shots of what it looks like to do the timing chain while inside the engine is in it

Yes the passenger side tire has to be removed, Jack up the car and place it on jack stands. You use a floor jack and a block of wood to lift and lower the engine to get the water pump bolt out and back in.
here’s a guide to the timing chain replacement
