What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
#2271
Washed both of the HHR's, gave 'em a quick detail, and back into the garage. Allergies driving me nuts today, its time for a Claritin and some Benedryl followed by crashing on the couch. Oops, almost forgot, the Skunk stripes arrived today for both of them, just have to find a body shop to do the job.

They do ALOT more than any body shop these days. All the cars and trucks you see fully "wrapped" with full color digital prints are done at Sign Shops.
If you were in the area i'd install them for you.
I do it as a Hobby for now. I have 2 Vinyl Plotters, the software and several racks of vinyl, heres just one that I have, I have 3 racks like this filled.
I cut lettering, decals, Banners, stuff like that.
This is a plotter pen drawing on wide paper, you then use a pounce wheel to make tiny holes in the pattern and place it were needed like a window or wall and transfer the pattern with colored chalk and can paint the design or use it to place the vinyl if its a multi colored pattern.
This was done in 23Karet Gold Leaf and Black 1 SHOT sign painters paint.
This is my Airbrush Compressor, a Jun-Air SILENT Compressor, they are used in Medical labs and Dentists use them to run tools, and are used in industrial applications.
Not cheap but you can air brush all night long and can't hear it run at all sitting right next to it.
And keeping on Topic, I started Prepping all the surfaces for installing a bunch of stuff, removed the underhood insulation got that all cleaned under the hood , but we are having some high winds today and it's only in the darn 30's here.

They are Quiet as a mouse arent they. Love mine.
I'd bet you could clean yours up and salvage it, may take some work but i've seen guys basement woodworking shops get flooded and they restored most of their machines into good working order. Incuding the electric motors.
A guy had 3 for sale on Craigs List all were brand new in the box. He worked in some type of industrial setting and they used them to maintain building systems, I did not ask how he got 3 brand new in the box units to sell, I just bought one for me at a Huge savings.

Replaced front brake pads. SUPER EASY, by the way. Almost as easy as my old 6er. Washed, waxed and removed that broken pop-up wind deflector. Thank you Mr. Bean Counter that insisted pot metal was a better choice. considering the stress those brackets go through. Thanks to ChevyMgr for that "jack points" link. Now I know where to put it safely and without damaging the uni-body.
The way it looks you would think you could just drill out the old rivets and pop the new brackets in their place. The heads of the rivets are facing up. But that would be too easy for a failure-prone part. I just really do not like the stick-on wind deflectors. Now for a ride around town.

Mine is quiet now..... very quiet.
On topic.... Just wasted several dollars...... took her through the "steal 'ur quarters" car wash..... Now if I get up the energy again I need to go out and clean it.
