"but silver always photographs as if it's matte/flat/satin though. Always bugged me when I had silver cars"

The trick is to always find something to reflect back from the paint, like trees, buildings, or the sky. Those pics are just a couple of quick Droid grab shots to see if the NC Research Campus would be a good backdrop for another run at the "Featured" crown.

I applaud your attention to detail Greybeard, not even the most fanatical car guys give much thought to matching the bug splats from one panel to the next....that's why I admire you man, always thinking.

Sam, I'm so glad the damage to The Short Bus was short lived, deals like that just make you sick when they happen...hope you gave the dent repair guy a nice tip for his effort.

He seemed happy I was paying retail while he was undoubtedly doing a bunch of wholesale work there at Jet Chevrolet. I was happy to give him all he wanted.

I'm not connected with Griot's in any way Hillsdale, but the surface protection film they sell has saved my paint from bugs and chips for years, maybe something you'd like to check out. Here's a link for you. Its temporary, apply it for the trip, peel it of when you get there.
