Sorry to hear about your misfortune, 843. It did however remind me of a slogan on a billboard by a local roofing company here; "No good ever comes when Dad gets out the ladder".

Get better soon, pain pills can be a man's best friend.

I just bought a 2008 SS a couple weeks ago (20,000 mi/Imperial Blue Metallic) and I have been picking away at detailing the paint. It really isn't in too bad a condition: minor swirls and a few rock chips/scratches/small dent in the hood. The dealer had it taken to PDR and a touchup guy, but I'm not really impressed with the work.

Anyway, have been working on it with my usual slothfullness (one or two sections at a time) and it's coming around. I use a Griots D/A buffer and Meguiars #105 or Ultimate Compound to deal with the swirls and Megs Ult Polish to prep it for the LSP. I use Blackfire Wet Diamond as a sealant and it really makes the metal specks in the paint stand out. IMHO, the best sealant for the $$$ on the market. Finally, I slap on a coat of Wet Glaze 2.0 to make it pop even more. I'll post pics when I get her all Midasized.

Michelle took Boo Boo this morning for new tires, went with Continental Extreme Contact DW's, I drove it down here to Charlotte this afternoon and what a difference from the Firehawks...its like a different HHR altogether.

The ribs are hurting like hell to put it mildly, but duty and an emergency bid revision called, man am I looking forward to getting home and taking some happy pills.

Hope that all of our members here on the Eastern seaboard made it through this afternoon's earthquake unscathed, nothing personal...but y'all on the West Coast can keep this shaking and bouncing over yonder OK.

I spliced into a vacuum line for a project of mine and it failed miserably. Now to correct my mistake and clear the CELS that popped up (nothing major, car's running fine). Also dealing w/ the TireRack as one of my brand new tires (ironically Continental Extreme Contact DW's like 843de's spouse just bought: I like them so far save the leaky one) has developed what I call "Suflowerhippi syndrome " as it's losing 5-10 psi every other day for no reason. Late to the party Mike but I hope you heal quickly!

Took the wife's 740 in for new valve cover gaskets(ouch) After we sent her on he way, with the 8qts staying in it now. We brought the blue bus in for some fresh M1 and lube the moogs. My DIC says 8% left and I have drove 15,000 miles and changed it 3 times now. I just can't leave grunge oil in there.

Drove Boo Boo home from Charlotte(driving hurts like hell), tucked him into the garage and tried to pull up on the parking brake out of habit, pretty sure the whole neighborhood heard me scream....honestly it was a good ten minutes before I could move....why do broken ribs hurt ten times more while they heal up?

Anywho, I'm loaded up on happy pills and Zyrtec(just in case I might be inclined to sneeze), so you'll excuse me while I call it a day.

Yeah Kevin, Looking at a 2010 Xb 7.0 RS in Murasaki (japanese for Purple ) Problem now is HHR took so long to come back the 2.9% on certified used has ended.
