My first non-dealer mod was to drive Blackie down to the tire store and have them remove the 32 mile old Firestone OEM tires & wheels to be replaced by my Internet ordered American Racing 16" Chrome Casino wheels, four new Goodyear Assurance tires and a second set of TPMS. Will go back to the OEM's come late fall - hope they're OK in winter. If not they aren't famous for lasting too long so I'll wear them out and get a good set of winter treads.
The change is instant and great. Better ride & handling and the chrome really shows off the car. Enjoy yours. I used to laugh about those that thought OEM wheels were to get you to the tire store for custom wheels but now I know it's true.

Headed to the office and back in Boo Boo, got stuck in the usual traffic jam on I-85, one of the joys of having an office in the "big city"...you spend a bunch of time parked on the highway.
After work we headed over to Enterprise to pick up a rental HHR for our trip north, the person who had the HHR managed to total it this morning so we now have the most boring car in the world......a 2010 Camry, base model no less, white with a tan interior, if ever a car needed a bar code on the side like a bag of generic potato chips this is it. The lady at Enterprise tried to get us an HHR but she just didn't have any available, even though the Camry is an "upgrade" she looked so sad handing me the keys.

Yeah its dang near invisible in traffic, Michelle managed to lose me on the way home without trying, her words when I got home were "you're not going to make me drive THAT are you?". Its gonna be a long trip.

Installed HHR SS struts and shocks (had the springs installed already....courtesy of a forum member) today. Took about 3.5 hours, including a stop for a light up of a Dominican. Not a tough job with an impact and the right tools. Will get a wheel alignment after the struts and shocks settle....maybe about 500 miles (old school).
Only drove about 20 miles, but seems to handle better. Not as much as I like, BUT BETTER.

I think I would have said "sc*** it" and gone home empty.
