What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
#5772
Wish she could get up high enough to generate a proper contrail there Sam, usually don't exceed 12,000 feet unless we go on oxygen, although I do have a service ceiling of 18,300 feet if needed. I usually operate at "puddle jumper" altitudes to save fuel, 7,500 to 8,500 feet at 70% throttle gives me a range of 750-800 nautical miles.
Here's the old girl sunning herself earlier this year and showing off her new wheel spats, always a looker!

Welcome to the site HHRsofla! Nice looking ride you have there, very tasteful 1st mods I must say!
@ Sam: Good lord man you change tires like you do boxers I see !
@ Mike: Safe travels, though by mow I'm sure you're en route.
Back OT: dealer saw nothing wrong with the car but cleared the history codes that were stored, looks like I'll be buying an evap purge solenoid soon as one of the codes was for my gas cap (it's fine, no leaks). The service manager noted the "tires broke loose" while he was test driving it... umm it was raining and my car isn't "stock" lol but they know that (I love McDermott Chevrolet!). Today: drove it to work and testing the hp meter in the Aeroforce gauge, was elated to see it fly to 326+ whp!! (now to see how accurate that is) Tonight or tomorrow: swapping out the summer rubber for the stockers, boo.

Let's see, busy day for us, but to be semi-on topic...we did drive the Spousemobile to the airport this morning and then back home tonight.
Took off at 0600 this morning and we landed in Corning at 1115 on the nose, had a quick lunch and a meeting of the business type then it was time to head home. After waiting out some winds that exceeded the Queen's cross wind takeoff threshold we were airborne at 1430 for the flight home, landed at 1915 after bucking headwinds on the return leg...hello Canadian cold front!
Grabbed a shot of our shadow on the clouds this morning over PA, sometimes its easy to forget that on the gloomiest days, the sun is shining brightly above us.

Took a round trip of about 500 miles to let the HHR stretch its legs. First 70 miles of the trip, was in the driving snow storm we had here in the mid-Atlantic/Northeast. That 70 mile leg (Cumberland to Morgantown) usually takes about an hour - took almost 2 hrs this morning. Rest of the trip, just wet roads. HHR ran great, got really decent gas mileage (about 26-27) for running the Appalachians of Western MD and West VA (I-68 and I-79). Got home this afternoon and had 5"-6" of snow on the ground, when there was 1/2" when I left this morning.
It's too early for this crap!
